Hello, I am Pastor Tony Meads. Thank you for your interest in Christ Evangelical Church.
A little about myself:
I was born and raised in Hertford, NC. I had a fairly normal childhood, but in my teens and twenties my life became a complete mess. I lived a lifestyle that totally consumed me. When the so-called “fun” ended, I didn’t know how or where to turn for help. I had issues that were beyond my control, but God was serious about helping me. And that He did! Jesus Christ was the change I needed.
It was at Elizabeth City Evangelical Methodist Church that I finally surrendered my heart and life to Jesus Christ. It was also there that I met my lovely wife, Julie. We began dating and were married a year later. Our life together has been one great adventure.
In 2007 I realized God’s call on my life. I began to study for the ministry and was ordained in 2012. I served as Pastor of Shelbyville Evangelical Methodist Church, in Shelbyville Indiana for seven years, and in 2021 God moved us here to Christ Evangelical Church in Chesapeake, VA. We are very happy to be closer to our family in NC, and we are thankful for the church family God has provided for us here.
